The Halifax Gibbet: A Symbol of Justice or Brutality

A wooden guillotine stands tall against a cloudy sky. Its blade, now only a replica, once fell swiftly and silently, a grim symbol of a bygone era of justice. The Structure is the Halifax Gibbet which handed out its form of punishment from 1286 until 1650.
