The Ruins of the Church of St Thomas a Becket, Heptonstall

Heptonstall is unique for a such a small village, it features 3 churches all within the traditional boundaries of the settlement, 2 of which sit in the same churchyard. The churches of St Thomas the Apostle and St Thomas a Becket share the same grounds although the St Thomas a Becket is now a ruin having been damaged beyond repair by a storm in 1847. The ruins are maintained and can be accessed by the public, they are occasionally used for open air services and events. I took this picture on the 11th July 2020 with a Nikon d3300. www.colingreenphotography.co.uk
