The former trackbed lies to the north of what was Clifton Road Viaduct.
The Pickle Bridge Line is a former railway that connecting Bradford with Huddersfield and beyond. Running from Pickle Bridge junction at Wyke the line skirted the eastern side of Bailiff Bridge and Brighouse before reaching Anchor Pit Junction near to the point where the modern day M62 Motorway crosses the line. The line was opened in 1881 and crossed 3 viaducts and passed through 2 stations, by the 1940's the Grade II listed Wyke Viaduct was suffering major subsidence and the speed limit along the line was greatly reduced. It was completely closed in 1952 with the viaducts at Clifton Road and Wyke both partially demolished. I have replaced the sky, the original was completely washed out. I took this picture on the 30th March 2014 with a Polaroid is2132. www.colingreenphotography.co.uk
