The bridge shown was largely overgrown from below, if memory serves me correctly i think it was once a pth that had become a channel for a stream to flow under the former trackbed.
The Pickle Bridge Line is a former railway that connecting Bradford with Huddersfield and beyond. Running from Pickle Bridge junction at Wyke the line skirted the eastern side of Bailiff Bridge and Brighouse before reaching Anchor Pit Junction near to the point where the modern day M62 Motorway crosses the line. The line was opened in 1881 and crossed 3 viaducts and passed through 2 stations, by the 1940's the Grade II listed Wyke Viaduct was suffering major subsidence and the speed limit along the line was greatly reduced. It was completely closed in 1952 with the viaducts at Clifton Road and Wyke both partially demolished. The washed out overcast sky form the original picture has been replaced.
