Washer Lane Aqueduct, Halifax
11 Views
8th October 2023
The aqueduct crossers over a an access road in to the former Washer Lane Dyeworks, now a industrial estate in the Pye Nest area of Halifax, West Yorkshire, the dye works having closed in 1896. The aqueduct will have been built at some period prior to this, between 1856 when John Edward Wainhouse inherited the business and 1873 when he sold it to Henry Mossman. The aqueduct features his initials in a stone as a centre piece. I took this picture in June 2023 with a Nikon d3300. www.colingreenphotography.co.uk
