2nd December 2023
Mearclough is an industrial area of Sowerby Bridge, that is named after the house that stood here until at least the 1970's. Found at the bottom of Norland Hill the River Calder runs through it, and is crossed by Mearclough Bridge which is said to have been built in 1774 to replace an earlier crossing. The 3 arch stone bridge is Grade II listed. I took this picture with a Nikon d3300 on the 5th November 2016. www.colingreenphotography.co.uk
