River Calder at Copley

The River Calder is an inland waterway running from the hills above Todmorden, through the Calder Valley and finally in to the River Aire near Castleford. This section pictured passes by what was once Sterne Mills, home of the Standard Wire Company. The mill was demolished in the early 2000's and the site was redeveloped as a multi use housing, industrial and recreation development known as Copley Valley.
