Taken in September 2021 with an IPhone whilst walking around my home town of Sowerby Bridge.
Sowerby Bridge is a market town in the metropolitan borough of Calderdale. Originally a crossing point for the River Calder the town grew on the back of engineering and textiles and eventually saw the arrivals of the Rochdale Canal and Calder and Hebble Navigation Canal which meet near the town centre. The continued the growth of industry in the town saw the railway pass through in the 1840's which only increased the towns growth with a large goods yard completed on the site of the modern day Tesco. As these industries declined so did Sowerby Bridge and the area is now much reduced in statue, often overshadowed by the neighbouring towns of Halifax and Hebden Bridge. Despite this recent TV show Happy Valley has encouraged people to visit the area and see it's many offers. www.colingreenphotography.co.uk
