The Thorp Fountain is a Grade II listed former drinking fountain on the corner of Savile Park, Halifax, and was given to the people of Halifax by Joseph Thorp in July 1869. Saville Park is an open piece of public land to the south west of Halifax, West Yorkshire, the site of a number of football and rugby pitchers it also host's the Halifax Show, has hosted the Great Yorkshire Show, and is popular with people out walking in groups, on there own or with the dog. It was ploughed and used for food growing during World War 11's Dig for Victory campaign. Savile Park is also known as Skircoat Moor, Halifax Moor, Skircoat Common and simply The Moor. I took this picture with a Nikon d3300 on the 20th October 2018. www.colingreenphotography.co.uk
