29th October 2024
The Old Packhorse Bridge at Hebden Bridge is dated 1510 and used to provide the main crossing over Hebden Water until the the turnpike was built to the south in the 1770's. It is Grade II listed and was placed on the list of Scheduled Monuments in the 1930's. The bridge is 7ft 6ins wide and has alcoves that allowed carts and pedestrians to pass unhindered. It has been a pedestrian only bridge for decades now. I took this picture with a Nikon d3300 on the 21st July 2018. www.colingreenphotography.co.uk
