Halifax Railway Station moved to it's current location on the 7th August 1850 from the previous terminus at Shaw Syke, this was due to the new line connecting with Bradford opening. The station featured temporary buildings before permanent buildings were completed and opened in June 1855. A much bigger station in it's heyday featuring several platform it now only has 2 served by an island platform reached by an over bridge. There are plans to refurbish the station at a cost of over £30million which will see improved access and facilities. I took this picture in May 2018 with a Nikon d3300 and it shows the Grade II listed former main station building opened in 1855, this building was part of the Eureka Children's museum until recently and there may be plans to reuse it when the station is refurbished. www.colingreenphotography.co.uk
