Halifax Railway Station moved to it's current location on the 7th August 1850 from the previous terminus at Shaw Syke, this was due to the new line connecting with Bradford opening. The station featured temporary building before permanent buildings were completed and opened in June 1855. A much bigger station in it's heyday featuring several platform it now only has 2 served by an island platform reached by an over bridge. There are plans to refurbish the station at a cost of over £30million which will see improved access and facilities. I took this picture in October 2017 with a Nikon d3300. Part of (Nestle) Rowntree Mackintosh's Halifax site can be seen to the left of the picture. www.colingreenphotography.co.uk
