William Deighton Memorial

William Deighton was a tax inspector charged with investigating King David Hartley and the Cragg Vale Coiners Gang. Deighton was murdered by the gang in Halifax and this stone is a memorial to the foul deed. It can be found on the cycle route away from Brearley towards Mytholmroyd. www.colingreenphotography.co.uk
