29th October 2024
Taken in September 2017 with a Nikon d3300 Camera, Dixon Scar Woods is a woodland that climbs up the Sowerby Hillside from the River Calder at the Hollins Mill area of Sowerby Bridge, it is better known locally as Dixy Woods. The weir used to help power the nearby Hollins Mill, it was badly damaged by the 2015 Boxing Day Calder Valley Floods. The picture was taken as part of a set whilst walking the woodland and the river bank from Hollins Mill to Tenterfields. www.colingreenphotography.co.uk
