Copley Canalside Seating

This seating areas used to provide a delivery point for coal barges to deliver coal to waiting horses and carts underneath, these areas where then benches are were a funnel type area where the coal would drop down on to the waiting carts. The funnel was covered and the area opened up in the late 1980's. They can be found alongside the Calder and Hebble Navigation Canal at Copley, West Yorkshire. I took the picture in
