Railway Buffers at the End of Sowerby Bridge Coal Drops
12 Views
18th October 2024
Taken in April 2014, the Sowerby Bridge Coal Drops provided the town with the delivery of a vital heating and cooking resource until the mid 1970's. Once they had ceased to be used the were left to decline until a couple of years after this picture was taken and all the wood beams and top railings were removed. There had been a plan to build housing in the coal drops but this never happened and it is now a storage yard for a builders merchant. www.colingreenphotography.co.uk
