Gas Works Bridge is a Grade II Listed structure across the River Calder at Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire. Built in 1816 it is one of the oldest cast iron structures to exist in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. Closed to Traffic since the late 1970's it is now a pedestrian bridge been left to deteriorate by the local authority that do not seem to have a long term plan for it's upkeep. Wainhouse Tower the worlds tallest folly can be seen in the distance. I took this picture in November 2014. www.colingreenphotography.co.uk
