Mytholmroyd Railway Station was opened as a temporary stop by the Manchester & Leeds Railway in May 1847, several years after the line was completed through the Calder Valley. This was replaced by a more permanent station with platforms that ran along Mytholmroyd Viaduct in December 1871. The Grade II listed former station was closed in the late 1980's and replaced by the current structure, this can be seen from the end of both platforms. www.colingreenphotography.co.uk
