Sowerby (Dixy) Railway Tunnel

Taken using a Samsung Galaxy Tablet in December 2013, Dixon Scar Woods is a wooded area of hillside that rises up from the River Calder at the valley bottom to Sowerby Bridge Cemetery. Running through the hillside is the Sowerby Railway Tunnel also known as Dixy or Cemetery Tunnel. I was lucky to have the opportunity to picture the tunnel this day, I had been given permission, had full health and safety equipment, was with other people to keep watch even though no trains were running along the line on the day due to engineering works further up.
