Whitby Harbour Entrance Piers

6th September 2023
Whitby has 2 piers that act as an entrance to the harbour, the West Pier also known as the Fish Pier and home to the taller of the 2 lighthouses that occupy both piers, it was completed in 1831 and is Grade II listed. The East Pier also known as Tate Hill Pier and Burgess Hill Pier was completed in 1854 and is also Grade II listed. The Piers help to control water flow from the North Sea in to the Harbour and River Esk. I took this picture on the 25th August 2018 with a Nikon d3300 camera. www.colingreenphotography.co.uk
