North Bridge is an area of Halifax that has been a crossing point over the Hebble Brook for centuries. The current North Bridge was opened in 1871 to replace an earlier stone arch bridge. The Burdock Way flyover opened in 1973 to reduce traffic congestion over North Bridge and in the centre of Halifax.
